April 20, 2017 @ 7:30pm - 9:00pm
Event Navigation

(7:30p.m. – 9:00p.m.)
Chris Lowney, a one-time Jesuit seminarian, is a lay Catholic author, speaker and leadership consultant who chairs the board of Catholic Health Initiatives, a health care/hospital system. An alumnus of Regis Jesuit High School in Manhattan, he is also a former managing director of JP Morgan. Mr. Lowney holds a B.A. in history and M.A. in philosophy from Fordham University, as well as multiple honorary degrees.
Mr. Lowney will be speaking about his new book Everyone Leads: How to Revitalize the Catholic Church. Lowney proposes an “EASTER” strategy of five transformational principles: be entrepreneurial, be accountable, serve, transform, and reach out. These five ideas can catalyze profound change in every parish, in how bishops think, and in the roles laypeople play in leading the church. Filled with real-life examples, “Everyone Leads” outlines strategies that anyone can employ-from the pews to the pulpit-to strengthen the church. Mr. Lowney’s other books include Heroic Leadership: Best Practices from a 450-Year-Old Company That Changed the World (2005) and Pope Francis: Why He Leads the Way He Leads (2013), both from Loyola Press. Following the talk, Mr. Lowney will be signing books that will be available for purchase.
