Surrender??? How does that word make you feel? Does it conjure up thoughts of being conquered, defeated or filled with despair? Relax! That’s not how we will define this word throughout this retreat. We will explore the word surrender the way Jesus intended-as the giving of ourselves over to the Living God so that we may truly find ourselves and take care of our souls in the most healthy way possible. Jesus says to us in the Scriptures there is no greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends (John 15:13). Jesus is our model for surrender. He gives everything to us, and so we respond in like manner. He starts it and we respond. Loyola retreats are based on themes/dynamics of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola. Through silence, solitude and Scriptural prayer, each retreat is designed to help you discover God’s life within.
