Sunday, November 1, 2020 – ON-SITE DAY OF PRAYER – Giving Flesh To Holiness: Saints as Living Witnesses to the Gospel
November 1 @ 10:00am - 3:00pm
Led by Linda L. Baratte, Ph.D.
10:00am – 3:00pm
November 1 is All Saints Day. Saints are hints of what God is like, wrote Father Andrew Greeley. Come for a time to probe the richness of this treasure of our Catholic tradition, a celebration of the men and and women who, throughout the ages, have lived with the Lord even while among us. Why are they worthy of both our veneration and imitation? During our time together, we will explore the theological and spiritual underpinnings we find in this ‘cloud of witnesses’ who are members with us in the Church visible and invisible. Their legacy gives us comfort…and the challenge to become our own pointer to what God is like in this time and place.
We will also have a chance to share stories of saints important to our family and parish life and to raise up the lifestance of some contemporary “saints in the making.” There will be time to review new resources on the saints that can nurture our devotional life.
