Though Dorothy was happy on her Kansas farm she was a bit restless often wondering what was over the rainbow: were there, perhaps blue birds? For us we would say is there something more? Is this all there is to life? Am I called to be something more?

Dorothy’s yearning for something more, her summons through a tornado, meeting with friends then thrown into a scary forest with “lions and tigers and bears, Oh my!” is- part and parcel of the human condition.” The unease of existence, the yearning for More. (Fr. Bill Bausch)
Most of us are familiar with how St Augustine said it, “Our hearts are restless until they rest in thee.”

Enter the world of Dorothy, Glinda the Tin Man, Elmira Gulch who snatches Toto from Dorothy’s arms threatening her self-esteem, the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow, the Flying Monkeys and the Wicked Witch of the West that block her way. Auntie Em & Uncle Henry and of course the Wizard of Oz .
