Tell us about yourself and what you do.
I was born in Newark, NJ and now reside in Morris Plains, NJ with my family.  Besides being a devoted supporter of Loyola Jesuit Center I am an active member of the Notre Dame Mt. Carmel Parrish in Cedar Knolls.  I do ministry work by serving on the Buildings and Grounds committee, Kitchen Angel Committee, and am currently starting my training to be a Eucharistic Minister. I own Sphere Construction Group LLC which is a successful general contracting company that has been in business for over 34 years.  Our office is currently located in Denville, NJ.  After Jersey City State College I worked my up from an apprentice to journeyman in the New Jersey Carpenters Local 620.  I learned my trade as a carpenter which lead me to become an experienced builder by working hands on and by doing every task I was asked to perform.

How did you first get connected with Loyola Jesuit Center?
My friend Walter Pardo suggested a few years ago that I attend the “Evening in the Loyola Prayer Garden”.  I was blown away by the building’s magnificent architecture, as well as the beauty and grace of the gardens. Since then I’ve attended several Men’s Retreats which have helped me enhance my Spiritual life.

How long have you been volunteering with Loyola Jesuit Center?
Two years.

Tell us about your volunteer experience with Loyola Jesuit Center–what you’ve worked on in the past or upcoming projects.
The projects I have worked on have included the power washing the Stations of the Cross, renovation of Room 18, and providing debris removal for the work on the Gate House and the replacement of the roof on Maintenance Garage.

What do you find most rewarding about volunteering for Loyola Jesuit Center?
My volunteer work has allowed me opportunities to give back to others, expecting nothing in return.  My Spiritual life is important to me.  My association with Loyola Jesuit Center has given me peace and comfort which feeds my spiritual life.  I’m blessed by having good people around me such as Jeff Simon, Renee Owens, Walter Pardo, Reverend George, Tom, and Kirk.
